We combine the research of Western and Chinese medicine with the personal IBD experiences of founder Sylvia Tam and the team to develop sweet and savory functional and hypoallergenic snacks for all ages to enjoy.
Learning to live with IBD
With the personal guidance of my Chinese herbalist, I learned what foods to avoid and how to adjust my eating habits, creating a lifestyle that has kept UC symptoms away. Of course, it hasn't been easy, especially when it comes to traveling, camping with my scouts, or simply driving kids between sports and music classes. Parents who also have digestive issues often ask me how I manage my disease so well. I wanted to share my journey living with IBD and come out with better travel-friendly snack solutions for those like me.
I decided it was time to start Beviva.
As a busy mother of three who traveled regularly for meetings and tradeshows, it was hard to believe life could get any more complicated. In 2011, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, something I wasn't familiar with other than the painful symptoms I experienced, actually since childhood.
Sylvia worked in the gluten-free food industry for nine years, bringing food alternatives to the Celiac and Autistic community. Now, she is determined to create innovative snack solutions for people with IBD.
